Motion Index for Hermes

Browse 49 motion-graphics styles as live previews inside Hermes, and let your agent turn any of them into a ready-to-build brief.

Motion Index is a free library of motion-graphics styles (product turntables, kinetic type, data charts, editorial layouts, interface demos and more), each with a copy-ready prompt and a credit to the reference that inspired it. This plugin brings it into Hermes.

What you get

In Hermes Desktop: a Motion Index pane

  • Every style plays as a live preview. Search them, or filter by category.
  • Open a style to see what it's for, its reference credit and its prompt.
  • Ask the agent to build this puts a build request in your chat. Put the prompt in the chat inserts the full prompt. Copy prompt copies it.

For the agent: four tools

| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| motion_search | Finds styles that fit a topic or mood ("product launch", "stats", "retro"). Works offline. |
| motion_style | Returns one style: its look, motion, use case, credit and full prompt. |
| motion_brief | Turns a style into a brief for your topic, with the length and frame shape filled in (9:16 for Reels/Shorts by default). |
| motion_suggest | Sends a new style suggestion (title and example link) to the Motion Index review queue. Used only when you ask. |

In chat

  • /motion [words] lists matching styles.
  • The bundled skill motion-index:motion-from-style walks the agent from picking a style to a rendered preview.

In Hermes Desktop, turn on Motion Index under Capabilities → Plugins. The pane opens on the right.

Then try:

Make me a 10-second 9:16 launch reel for my receipt scanner app. Use a Motion Index style.

What it touches (disclosure)

  • Network:
    • motion_suggest sends the title, link and note you approve to https://motion.minutechbuilds.com/api/submit.
    • The pane loads four preview videos and their poster images from https://motion.minutechbuilds.com/demos/.
    • Nothing else uses the network. Search, styles and briefs come from the catalog bundled in data/catalog.json.
  • Files: none read or written outside the plugin folder.
  • Background work: none. No shell commands, credentials, telemetry or self-updating.
