hermes-provider-anyapi

AnyAPI.ai provider profile for Hermes Agent.

Registers AnyAPI.ai as a first-class provider over its OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions endpoint, so it shows up in the hermes model picker, hermes setup, hermes doctor, and the --provider flag like any built-in provider. The plugin touches no core files — it only calls register_provider.

Install

hermes plugins install anyapi

Or, from a checkout:

Configure

export ANYAPI_API_KEY=sk-...

Then pick AnyAPI.ai in the model picker (hermes model) or select a model directly:

hermes --provider anyapi.ai --model anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6

AnyAPI model ids are provider-prefixed (anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6, qwen/qwen3.8-max, deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash). Browse the live list at dash.anyapi.ai.

Optional: set ANYAPI_BASE_URL to point at a self-hosted or staging gateway (defaults to https://api.anyapi.ai/v1).

Tool-capable filtering

Hermes is an agent, so the model picker is filtered to the routes AnyAPI tags as tool-capable (function_calling). Routes without tool calling are dropped. If the catalog is unreachable, or filters down to nothing, the plugin falls back to the unfiltered /v1/models list.

What it touches

• Registers one ProviderProfile named anyapi.ai (alias any-api).
• Reads ANYAPI_API_KEY / ANYAPI_BASE_URL through Hermes' credential routes.
• Makes one network call to https://api.anyapi.ai/v1/models to list models.
• No files read or written, no shell commands, no telemetry.
